My name is Tej and I started Heera Clothing as a way of bringing modern South Asian clothing to the North East. 

Like many South Asians, I have spent a long time watching the misrepresentation of South Asian clothing and clothing on social media. I’ve also seen the way big brands continually fail to credit the culture and artisans behind the clothing that they sell at such a high price. Eventually, I decided to do something about it! 

A year on and Heera Clothing is a celebration of culture, craft and colour. I’m proud to say that all of our clothes are made by small teams of talented artisans in India and all of them represent the intricacy and tradition that has existed behind South Asian clothing for generations . The designs are handpicked by me to combine the best of my South Asian heritage with the culture of my home in the UK, a true blend of the styles I’ve grown up with. 

I want my customers to know that Heera is an inclusive brand. I believe that anyone should be able to enjoy our clothes- as long as they know where they come from and who made them.
